West Side is a district of Jersey City and the name of the avenue that runs through much it which begins in the Marion Section and ends at Danforth Avenue. The district's ambiguous borders are generally considered to be west of Kennedy Boulevard south of Journal Square and could include parts of Lincoln Park/West Bergen and Greenville, and, on the other side of NJ-440, the Hackensack Riverfront and Society Hill.

The Avenue is one of the the city's main shopping streets.[1] The West Side Avenue (HBLR station) is located near the West Campus of New Jersey City University. New Jersey Transit bus routes #1 & #80 serve the district, as does A&C Bus Corporation.

West Side Avenue carries two county route designations.[2] [3]
