It appears strange that the Government's response to the criticisms which were made in July and August 2009 (Notes 10,11 and 12) is supported by a reference to a RTE article dated in April. Perhaps the the second sentence above should read "Speaking to the Daíl on the 9th April 2009, Tánaiste Mary Coughlan said that the National Assets Management Agency is not a bailout for the banks." I didn't think the quote adds much, especially in an introduction; the Bill is very clear that this is its purpose, so I just changed it to It is proposed that NAMA ..., primarily with a view to improving the availability of creditmarkmc (talk) 17:22, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
