Šerbo Rastoder
Prof. Dr. Šerbo Rastoder (Serbian Cyrillic: Шербо Растодер, born 13 August 1956 in Radmanci, Berane, People's Republic of Montenegro, then People's Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) is a Montenegrin Bosniak philosopher and historian. He is also an author, writing about the history of Montenegro and about a few specific parts in Montenegro's history. He is also a prominent member of Jevrem Brković's controversial Doclean Academy of Sciences and Arts. He is also a big activist for the rights of Bosniaks in Montenegro.
Šerbo Rastoder is the long-term President of the Bosniac National Council of Montenegro, the Bosniacs' official minority organization.
Biography
Šerbo Rastoder was born to Smajo and Zada Rastoder, both Montenegrin Bosniaks from Bihor, a region in northern Montenegro (Sandzak) encompassing parts of the municipalities of Berane and Bijelo Polje. He completed high school and college in Bar. He graduated at the Faculty of Philosophy at Belgrade. He currently works as a professor, teaching in the University of Montenegro, Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić. He is also a Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Podgorica-based Almanah association promoting heritage of Bosniaks and other Muslims in Montenegro proper and Sandžak. His brother Rifat Rastoder is Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro and vice-President of the Social Democratic Party of Montenegro.
