Kimiko Hahn

Hey Brokennews. I saw your recent edit to Kimiko Hahn, which removed the image from the infobox. That image is representative of the subject matter and fully licensed for use on Wikimedia projects, so I was wondering why you removed it. Please reply here (see Wikipedia:Talk page#Formatting) or at my user talk page. Thanks. haz (talk) 20:40, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Haz--heard she would prefer publisher's author photo. It is a weird pix. 21:03, 25 Septmber 2008 (UTC)

PS--author phot from W.w. Norton used to be on this site. It's a photo by Colleen McKay. 21:13, 25 Septmber 2008

Hey again. I can't find any record of the "original" photo that you refer to. Could you please point out its Wikipedia image name, or a link to the image if it hasn't been uploaded? If it needs uploading then I will happily take care of the licensing/fair use issues where necessary.
By the way, on talk pages, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. haz (talk) 11:46, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kimiko Hahn

Hi Brokennews. We aren't a publicity site, but an encyclopedia, so putting a message directing people to a place where they can find a photo of Kimiko that she likes is verboten. It's not done anywhere else, and can't be done here.

About a year ago Kimiko wrote me and said that she disliked the image. I told her no problem, took the down image and said there were a couple of ways to rectify this issue: 1) I can help her upload a photograph that she owns the copyright to that she likes (which I assume is notthe Norton one); or 2) jog over to CUNY and take a different one. She never replied. It can't be too hard to have a family member, friend or student quickly snap a shot she likes if her public image is as important to her as it appears to be.

We're trying to build an encyclopedia. We want Kimiko's article to be a credit to her, as well as to ourselves, but Kimiko's wishes are secondary to the ultimate goal of this project, which can be found here. I've offered to work with her, but she is ostensibly uninterested. -->David Shankbone 19:44, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
