Microsoft Sam is the default text-to-speech voice in Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It is used by the screen reader program built into the operating system.

Roflcopter

Microsoft Sam has been esed for the popular internet meme, "Roflcopter", where he is made to day "SOI", but for unknown reasons, it is pronounced "SHWAA", which sounds like a helicopter.

In the popular Internet series "Arby 'n' the Chief" by Jon "CJG" Graham, and his "Rival", Pepsolman, Microsoft Sam is used for the Master Chief's voice. He has also been used to read various user generated error messages, as it entertain many users on various video engines.
