La Seu d'Urgell airport, also known as Pirineus-Andorra airport, is located in the municipalities of Montferrer i Castellbò and Ribera d'Urgellet in northern Spain. It is approximately 3 km south-west of la Seu d'Urgell (Alt Urgell, Catalonia), and 12 km south of Andorra.
The airport has been closed to commercial traffic since 1984 and is now used only by private aeroplanes.[1]
The Institut Català del Sòl (a department of the catalan government) bought 85% of the airport's land to create the Andorra-Pirineus airport.[1]
