The Festival de Brasília is promoted by the Government the Distrito Federal, has existed since 1965, dedicated exclusively to Brazilian cinema. In the first two editions was called Semana do Cinema Brasileiro (Brazilian Film Week).
The winners receive Troféu Candango (Candango Trophy), in honor of brasiliense, as well as cash prizes.
