Undo

It's fine, but what exactly about "citation needed" screamed Canada to you? I'm guessing you were looking at the code on the Edit page, but you really should base undos on the article, not the edit page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Icetitan17 (talkcontribs) 04:30, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Familiarize yourself with Wikipedia terminology and abbreviations (it's a process) - for instance, the shorthand for citation needed is cn, which is probably where you got Canada from. Also, never perform an undo until you look at the page first, to confirm that it's a vandalization. Undoing changes site unseen from the recent changes page is a bad idea. I'd recommend letting someone else be on vandal-watch until you're completely sure you know what vandalism looks like.Icetitan17 (talk) 05:40, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. I am using the program HUGGLE to revert vandalism. You need the rollback feature enabled on your account in order to use HUGGLE. Cheers. Trance addict - Armin van Buuren - Oceanlab 05:46, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confused About Deleting Sections In An Article

{{Help Me}} So, lately there have been a lot of edits on Penn High School's article which are for the most part, un-sourced, and I've been wondering what the criteria is for either deleting them because they don't belong on that page in the first place, or how I should edit them to only include the information that is sourced. Thanks!

Ertemplin (talk) 05:08, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there.
If you can fix them, then of course, that would be great.
If you suspect that someone else might be able to fix them, then you could mark the bits that concern you. If it is one or two facts, you could put {{fact}} after them, which will then appear as a small  [citation needed]  mark in the article. If it is a whole section, you could put {{unreferenced section}} at the top of it, to add a note about that.
You could remove unsourced facts, yes - especially if they are contentious. If someone else then puts them back though, you shouldn't remove them again - instead, discuss it on the article discussion page and try to read a consensus.
Good luck with it; be bold and try. If you need more help, please do ask again - either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.

Help with user page

{{helpme}} I just added a box for the "1337" language to my user page, but there's some code showing there that I don't like. Do you know how to either make that non-visible, or remove it?

Just go to the page history, and click the 'undo' link beside the last change that you made :-)
For more help, you can either;

Your Trout Userbox

There is a userbox on your page, that says you are open to being slapped by trouts. However, it also says that you are an admin, which you are not. Please change this userbox immediately or you will be slapped by a trout. Kevinmon (talk) 23:15, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed it.

Ertemplin (talk) 22:58, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: I just made a copy of your trout slapping user box.

No problem, it's there to be copied at will ;). I have taken the liberty to change the image's background, though. -- Luk talk 13:27, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- I had changed it to red just to be different from yours haha. Plain is fine though.

i wont vandalise anymore. sorry. Thx ~ Jeliekbigbusanas

Spotlight

Hi there. Hopefully you'll remember me, from my trying to help you; well, now it's my turn to ask for help.

I'm trying to help re-launch an idea called "Spotlight". The notion is to select an article and work on it collectively, via live discussion, for one week. If lots of people get involved, it can work really well; in the past, the project died off through lack of participants. Anyone can help out, because that's the whole point - we have many and varied skills, but between us, we can do amazing things. So - please join the channel, and add yourself to the participants in WP:SPOTLIGHT. Thanks for your time!  Chzz  ►  22:27, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My User Page

{{Help Me}} I am trying to make my user page more useful, and am wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what to put on there, or if there are any templates that are helpful for my user page.

Ertemplin (talk) 06:46, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just take a look around at others' userpages to see what they have. You can also peruse WP:UPDC for more ideas. Generally, anything is okay. See WP:USERPAGE if you haven't already. Killiondude (talk) 07:02, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help with the beta

{{help me}}

I've just recently switched to the beta, and don't like how my links that are associated with plugins are hidden with that arrow. Is there a way to disable the arrow, and just have the links go along the top of the page, like the monobook theme?

Ertemplin (talk) 18:06, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The beta version is just that, a beta test - therefore, please address all comments to the people developing it, as explained in Special:UsabilityInitiativeOptIn, ie visit the Usability Initiative's wiki, put questions or feedback on the prototype discussion page, use the associated discussion pages, and report bugs by using Bugzilla.  Chzz  ►  18:09, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Confused...

Clicriffhard (talk) 23:37, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Hi. Not sure why I got ANOTHER warning for explaining the misunderstanding. The meaning I gave was perfectly valid, as explained here amongst other places: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/bummer#Noun_3[reply]

I didn't send you that final warning. Runescape Adventure did. Ertemplin (talk) 23:41, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Right. I'll chase that up then! Bloody hell, it's like a labyrinth... Any idea why? And why did you give me a warning in the first place? It'd be nice if people could check their facts before they issue warnings, you know? Clicriffhard (talk) 23:45, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, he gave you a warning because your post on my talk page said "homosexual man". And I wouldn't be surprised if I got a warning for putting this on my talk page actually haha. Some people don't really know what they're doing... Ertemplin (talk) 23:48, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
