Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,846 people, 818 households, and 525 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 152.6/km² (395.0/mi²). There are 913 housing units at an average density of 75.5/km² (195.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 97.72% White, 1.08% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.60% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.16% from other races, and 0.22% from two or more races. 0.43% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 818 households out of which 23.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.3% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.7% are non-families. 32.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 19.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.17 and the average family size is 2.70.
