Viglen was formed by Sir Alan Sugar when Amstrad split into Betacom and Viglen itself.

Viglen speicales in leading-edge hardware systems and networks, innovative software. Their customer base has expanded to both the private and public sector - education, health, local government and voluntary organisations.

A major solution supplier to the corporate, education and public sectors, Viglen supplies information technology hardware, software and technical support to two thirds of Britain’s universities, culminating in Viglen becoming the principal supplier in over half of these, including Oxford and Cambridge.
