Does anyone know whether he was born in Plainview or Seth Ward, Texas? The article gives both, side by side. I note that they are very close to one another, in the same part of the same county. Everyking 11:02, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Somebody changed it to say Seth Ward was his birth name, and he was born in Plainview, but that seems odd to me, since there's a place called "Seth Ward, Texas" right near Plainview, which would be a remarkable coincidence unless the former town was actually named after him at a later date (or the other way around, I guess, theoretically). Well, I found it in a few different places: [1] [2] and more. The name of the town is relatively new (post-WWII). It was named after a college, which was named after a minister in 1910, so it's highly probably that it's not a coincidence: it could be that Jimmy Dean is a relative of the minister and was given his name. Parody of Big Bad John

There was this funny parody that I can't remember the title of and it was the opposite pretty much. Instead of a brave tough manly man it was about a guy who was cowardly and ran away from gunfights. Things like that. Anyone remember the title?

Splitting the article?

Can anyone explain why the "article split" tag has been applied here? I don't get it. 23skidoo 05:45, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently there's a company "Jimmy Dean Foods" that would qualify as its own article. I added it to the dablink at the top but currently it redirects here. I removed the split template. Kaisershatner 15:42, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He was born Jimmy Ray Dean, and not Seth Ward, as is sometimes stated. Seth Ward is the district of Plainview, Texas where he grew up.

Is there an alternative grammar that might be applied?

He was born Jimmy Ray Dean, and not Seth Ward, as is sometimes stated. Seth Ward is a district in Plainview, Texas, where he grew up.

Thank You.

Fair use rationale for Image:JimmyDeanalbum.jpg

Image:JimmyDeanalbum.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:06, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Legitimate quote?

What's up with the line: He also had a passion for the Mexican burrito, which he called "delectable enough for my auntie Geraldine." Is that legit or vandalism? RadioBroadcast (talk) 03:36, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
