image guided surgery and surgical navigation?

Maybe these two shouldn't be redirected here. It's my understanding that these are not synonyms. If there aren't any objections, I'll remove the redirect and create a stub. Strawmd (talk) 14:47, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article talks mostly about robotic surgery. Image guided surgery is used frequently without the help of robotics and is used for surgical navigation with CT/MR. The language used 'Computer assisted surgery' is a very generalized term and should perhaps just be defined as using computers to assist in surgery whether it be image guided or robot guided. Therefore I believe 'Image guided surgery' should be it's own topic. Furthermore 'Robotic surgery' already has it's own page making some of this article is redundant.--Brianeeg (talk) 15:07, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
