Request

Hi. I’m looking to add free-licensed photographs of the various season residences of MTV’s The Real World to the articles for those seasons, so I’m contacting editors that may live in or near those cities. Do you live in or near Austin, and if so, would you be able to take some high-quality pics of the Austin residence, and upload them here if I give you the location? If not, do you know anyone who can? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 06:07, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! And yes, that's correct. I added that info to the that article, just as I added the residence info to most of the season articles. You can find more info on it and pics to help you find it (albeit copyright-protected ones) here, which is where I get the residences' info from. I also moved your messages to this subsection on my Talk Page. Thanks again! :-) Nightscream (talk) 15:36, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome! They look great! Very vivid color. Thanks again, Nv! :-) Nightscream (talk) 18:10, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Sidney sheldon.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Sidney sheldon.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:45, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Star images

Hello, we are discussing Category:Star images at WT:ASTRO#Category:Star images concerning a tag you added to the category in 2005. We would like your input. 76.66.196.139 (talk) 04:39, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Guadalupe River State Park, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.texasoutside.com/centraltexas/honey-creek.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. File:Croped BFRO image.jpg

You put a "keep" result on this image despite overwhelming support in the discussion to delete, with only the uploader and an anonymous IP account (likely the same person) supporting keeping it. It also has previously been deleted. You claimed that it should stay because "As the image has been added to an article that relates to the image and the text is specific about the image and misidentification of the animal in the image, the image is significant to the article." -- this is nonsense, as a consensus of editors has consistently removed it from every article the uploader tried to force it onto. Your rationale only works if the image is wanted on an article by editors, and since they do not want it your conclusion that it should be kept is completely out of nowhere. As another admin deleted it, and no serious editors (i.e. ones not here to promote WP:FRINGE beliefs) want it in any article, you too should respect consensus and policy instead of trying to unilaterally overrule both of them on your own. DreamGuy (talk) 15:24, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be some edit warring over this image but I tend to agree with your keep decision as seen on the game camera talk page. At this time it is the most notable game camera image depicting Bigfoot no matter what it actually was.--Windowasher (talk) 16:49, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The "most notable game camera image depicting Bigfoot" isn't notable enough for Game camera or Bigfoot. And funny how some new account comes out of nowhere to jump into the conflict when the accounts trying to add fringe info about this image have been caught using extensive sockpuppeting in the past. DreamGuy (talk) 21:26, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What’s really funny is that I’m not a sock and that I just checked the track record for talk. I found he just came off of suspension with a long list of blocks for edit warring in the past.--Windowasher (talk) 04:03, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
