The 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team is an infantry brigade combat team of the United States Army National Guard of New Jersey. It is headquartered at the Lawrenceville Armory.

Background

The unit is a part of the New Jersey Army National Guard. It is a subordinate unit to the 42nd Infantry Division.[1]

The 50th Brigade has two light infantry battalions, one artillery battalion, one RSTA squadron, a special troops battalion, two MP companies, and a support battalion.

The brigade's lineage can be traced back to several different units, which eventually combined to produce the 50th Infantry Brigade. Among these units is the 50th Armored Division.

The Brigade was mobilized in June of 2008 and trained at Fort Bliss, Texas, before being deployed to Iraq.

The 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team was welcomed home by family and friends with a parade through Trenton, NJ on June 12, 2009, after almost a year-long tour of Iraq. The Brigade, lead by their Commander, Colonel Steve Ferrari, was welcomed by Governor Jon Corzine.
