The Metropolitan University (Template:Lang-es) was founded in 1970 by a group of entrepreneurs led by Eugenio Mendoza Goiticoa. It is located in the city of Caracas, Venezuela, near Petare.

Today, the University has 5,000 students and approximately 500 professors. It is a business oriented University, Business Administration being one of the most important courses offered.

The academic under-graduate courses include: Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, Education, Modern Languages, Engineering (Chemical, Mechanic, Systems, Electrical, Civil & Production), Psychology and in 2003, it became the first University in Venezuela to offer the Liberal Studies course.

Art

Aside from the gardens themselves, there are several works of art all over the campus. Inside the library and the Rectoral building there are art galleries as well as there are works of art constantly displayed and renewed inside and outside the library.
