Kiran Rao is an Indian film director and producer. She is the wife of actor, producer Aamir Khan .
Career
Kiran Rao started her career as an assistant director in the epic movie Lagaan directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, whom she also assisted later for movie Swades: We, the People. Lagaan was nominated for 74th Academy Awards in foreign films category. Aamir Khan was also working on the same film. She then assisted another Academy Award nominated director Mira Nair in movie Monsoon Wedding[1].
Personal Life
Kiran is married to actor/director Aamir Khan. They met on the sets of movie Lagaan. Kiran Rao was an assistant director of the movie and Aamir was playing the lead role in it. They married on December 2005[2].
