Grant Nieporte is the writer of the movie Seven Pounds. This is his first major film[1]. Grant got the idea after having a chat with a man whom he called "the saddest person I ever met in my life"[2]. In the behind the scenes vignette found on the Seven Pounds DVD, Grant seems to suggest that the sad man he encountered was responsible for the death of seven in a "national tragedy."]].

He was a technical advisor for the TV show Home Improvement from 1997-99. He was a writer's assistant on Jack & Jill in 1999-2000. Also, he has worked as a writer on the TV shows Sabrina the Teenage Witch (TV series) and 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter. He attended the University of California, Irvine
