Amaya was born in Madrid Spain in 1970. Amaya’s mother María Luisa Navarro owns a knitwear label Elipse and her father Florentino produces the label Tinto Florentino. After attending the Madrid's Politécnica University studying Fashion Design, Arzuaga designed her first knitwear collection, and sold it in Paris. In 1994 she created her own firm. She won the 1996 Spanish Designer of the Year and the Telva Award in 1998 She has over 200 boutiques in Spain alone. Her designs are sold in 36 countries & over 600 shops. Amaya Arzuaga has 350 outlets in Spain and 515 elsewhere and the figure is rising all the time. Her major markets are Spain, England, the United States, Japan, Belgium, France, Italy, Hong Kong and Australia. She is known for clever and colourful knitwear designs that marry unusual fabric combinations, and for the latest in computer technology, but colour and texture is where she excels. "The fact that my father owns a winery [Bodegas Arzuaga] has also had an effect on me, to the extent that wine has even been the inspiration behind some of my designs." She was the first Spanish designer to take part in London Fashion week in 1997.


Amaya Arzuaga (born 1970) is a Basque designer.

She studied in the UPM and in 1992 she finished Fashion Design and joined her parents' enterpreise, Elipse.

In 1994, she created her own firm. She sells and shows her collections regularly in international fashion fairs like Atmosphère (Paris), Fashion Cotterie (New York), Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (Milan), Pasarela Cibeles (Madrid), Passarel·la Gaudí (Barcelona), and London Fashion Week(London). Amaya Arzuaga has more than 200 boutiques in Spain.
