Itinerario is a refereed international academic history journal published three times a year by Cambridge University Press on behalf of the Leiden Institute for History, [Leiden University]. It offers a publishing platform for research on the history of European expansion in the context of colnialism between c.1500 and 1950. Contributors are encouraged to take a global perspective and to consider the international interaction of European countries from both a Western and non-Western viewpoint, analysing the impact of this interaction on [World History] in general.

The journal publishes original research articles, archival notes, interviews and an extensive reviews sections.

Itinerario is also affiliated to the Forum on European Expansion and Global Interaction (FEEGI) in the USA.
