EDIS

EDIS is a four letter acronym which stands for:

• Electrical Distribution Information System - an Internet based application used by large property companies to efficiently manage their electrical certificates, electrical distribution board and other information required by the British Standard 7671. This standard provides regulations for the safety of electrical installations for buildings, the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) has become the standard for the UK and many other countries. The EDIS system is currently used by commercial and government building managers in the UK.

EDIS is the trading name of a New Zealand software company which develops EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) software. EDIS software is used to exchange data directly between the networks and systems of trading partners. EDIS head office is located in Auckland, New Zealand.

  • Specifically, it may reference the Ford EDIS
• Environmental Data and Information Service, merged in 1982 into the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service branch of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

• Editions Interuniversitaires Suisses - Edis, a publishing house established in Switzerland and specialized in international law, founded by Tiziano Balmelli, Alvaro Borghi and Pierre-Antoine Hildbrand in 2001 ([1]).

• Electrical Design & Installation Services - an electrically biased Building Services design and estimation company based in Herefordshire.

• Emergency Department Information System - a computer based application used to manage Emergency Departments across Australia (All states except N.T.) from 1990 to current date. Currently used in 85% of major hospitals in Australia and selected hospitals in New Zealand, Canada and the UK.

• This may refer to footballer (soccer player) Edis Isakovic, who has player for the Clarkston Warriors Soccer Team since early 2006.

• Emergency Digital Information Service - A broadcast based public information system run by the State of California.
