"Moapa Valley High School" is a small 3A empowered public high school in Clark County, Nevada, United States Of America, located in Moapa Valley in the city of Overton, being part of Clark County School District]]. It has an approximated number of students of 600. Moapa Valley High School is known for its forensics team, being winner for 4 consecutive years as small school and for its football team, which has also been in the state championship for several years. The school symbol and mascot are the pirates.
History
A combination Moapa Valley High School and Overton Elementary opened its doors in 1914. This was in a gothic style two-story masonry building. The first graduating class received their diplomas in 1919. The Class of 1919 consisted of two students. Mr. Liljenquist was the first principal of Moapa Valley High School. Due to growth in the valley a second building was added in 1922 which included a 250-seat auditorium and a gymnasium. Later a second gymnasium was added with the help of the Federal Government in the 1930’s. The two-story gymnasium was then converted into the school library. Moapa Valley High School became a part of the [[Clark County School District in 1956.
