Pussy is the first single from the album Liebe ist für alle da by Rammstein.[1] The song was released with a controversial and pornographic video in which the band members, each portrayed by body-doubles, are seen having sex with women. [2]

The first promotional video for the single was released online on 1 September 2009 at The Gauntlet. The video also confirmed the new album title.

"Pussy" was Rammstein's first number one single in Germany. The song was also remixed by another German artist, Scooter.

Music video

The video was directed by Jonas Åkerlund and was released online on 16 September 2009. The video features the band playing the song wearing leather outfits, interspersed with 6 pornographic videos featuring each of the band members as a different stereotypical pornographic character: Till as the Playboy, Christoph as the CEO, Paul as the Cowboy, Oliver as Mr. Pain (a BDSM fetishist), Richard as the Partyboy, and Flake as Heeshie (a shemale). Each scene features a band member engaging in foreplay with a different woman, and the scenes become more explicit as the video progresses.

In an interesting parallel, Rob Halford's band 2wo did almost the exact same thing 11 years earlier for the album Voyeurs. Halford hired porn director Chi Chi Larue to direct the video for the first single I Am a Pig. [3] This video featured grainy S&M scenes of the band and various porn stars, including a few brief glimpses of Janine Lindemulder, in a sex dungeon.

Live story

Pussy debuted live, as most of Rammstein's songs, during fan exclusive concerts held in Berlin. Currently Pussy is the last song of the main set of the Liebe ist für alle da tour. When played, frontman Till Lindemann mounts a giant penis-painted foam canon that shoots over the audience and confetti with the colors of the German flag fall from the ceiling, much like Amerika in the Reise, Reise tour
