According to Barry Drummondand other ethnomusicologists, Slendro Nem and Pelog Lima are the lowest pathet and transfer to one another- not Slendro Nem and Pelog Nem. Slendro Nem favors gong tone 2 and Slendro Sanga favors gong tone 5, while Pelog Nem favors gong tone 5 and Pelog Lima favors gong tone 1. Furthermore, the parallels to "dominant" and "tonic" are misleading, and Pelog Barang has a range of possible gong tones. For this reason, it might be more ideal to replace the chart given with an examination of each pathet in order. Bassedancer (talk)
