The 2010 Outback Bowl will be the twenty fourth edition of the college football bowl game, and will be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The game is scheduled to start at 11 AM US EST on Friday, January 1, 2010. The game will be telecast on ESPN and will match Auburn University against Northwestern University.[1][2][3]

The game will mark Auburn's third appearance in the Outback Bowl. It is their first appearance in the bowl since a 1996 43-14 blow-out loss to Penn State. The game will mark Northwestern's first appearance in the Outback Bowl. The Wildcats are also seeking their first postseason win since the 1949 Rose Bowl. The two teams have never played each other prior to the Outback Bowl.
