Samundri Template:Lang-ur is a city in Pakistan. It was the tehsil (county) of Jhang district in 1900; later, when lyallpur(faisalabad) was made a district in 1904, Samundri was made its tehsil. Because there were three small Hindi temples (mandir) in the locality, the town was first called Sehmandri; the name was subsequently converted to Samundri. In the reign of Sher Shah Suri this area was a link road for transportation.

Inhabitants of sea are also called samundari in urdu.
