James Pearson

Cllr James Pearson (born 30 August 1982 in Canterbury Kent) is a British Conservative Politician, currently the youngest Local Authority Leader in the Country. He became the Chairman of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Authority on 25 June 2009 aged 26.[1] [2] [3]

In June 2004, aged 21, he bacame the youngest person ever elected to Trafford Metropolitan Bborough Council when he was elected councillor for Broadheath Ward in Altrincham.[4] He was appointed by Trafford MBC to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Authority in 2005. Unusually he serves the residents of Trafford alongside his morther Cllr Mrs Paula Pearson who has been a councillor since 2000.[5]
