The Templars And The Assassins: The Militia Of Heaven is a non-fiction book written by James Wasserman[1] and published in 2001 by Inner Traditions International. The book is a cumulative summary of the Knights Templar and the Nizari Hashshashins (Assassins), and also gives a brief chapter on secret and occult societies. The book consists of a preface, 4 parts, 26 chapters, 2 appendixes, and a bibliography. The preface is an introduction to occult and secret societies, part 1 is a description of the political and religious reasons throughout Europe for the crusades, part 2 is mainly concerning the Hashshashins, part 3 is mainly concerning The Knights Templar, and part 4 is the "aftermath". The book is praised and has received mostly good reviews, especially the preface on occult societies, as Wasserman goes through the levels, differences, stages, and types of secret societies and fraternities.
