Mel Deane (born 16 January 1975) is a rugby union footballer who plays at centre for Connacht. He joined on loan originally from Sale Sharks in February 2003, and the deal was made permanent at the end of the season. He previously played for Richmond.

Mel Deane has represented Ireland A and was also part of the Ireland squad that toured New Zealand in 2002.

Mel has signed for Connacht for the 2007/8 season.
