User talk:Yuyudevil
Greetings!
My name is Ryan, and it's my pleasure to welcome you, Yuyudevil, to Wikipedia! First of all, I'd like to thank you for joining the project, and contributing to articles and discussion. I hope you can continue to take part in Wikipedia, because we need more valuable editors like yourself.
If you are new and need some assistance, here are some great links to check out:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia are the primary goals and most important rules that we follow.
- These help pages are important if you'd like to learn more about specific processes.
- The tutorial is a hands-on approach to learning all about editing.
- For a "crash course" in editing, head on over to Redwolf24's Bootcamp!
- Writing a great article is a noble accomplishment. An article you start might end up on the Main Page!
- The Manual of style is an in-depth group of pages that will teach you how to make articles look their very best.
I hope you enjoy editing here, and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, find out where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Before I go, here's one more tip. When you post on talk pages, be sure to sign your name and the date by typing four tildes: ~~~~. That automatically generates your username and the date. Again, welcome, and happy editing! --Merovingian (t) (c) (e) 11:00, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
Oh, you're very welcome. I'm always happy to help users new and old! --Merovingian (t) (c) (e) 11:28, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
I didn't know you were female. I thought I was talking to a guy because your screenname looked gender-neutral. Do you have a picture of yourself anywhere? --Shultz 01:53, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- You're not alone - a user from ko wiki assumed I was male last night and said something about me getting drafted in to the Korean military :P I didn't realize there were Wikigeeks on Neopets.. good to know there are some out there ;) I just uploaded my picture to the Facebook; have a look. (Scroll to the bottom.) Caution: that picture is a few years old, but I don't have anything better to put up. So until I can get hold of another half-decent picture of me, that's what you'll see. :P Yuyudevil 06:24, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- How old were you in that photo? You kinda look 12 in it. Anyways, I look forward to a more current photo sometime. By the way, don't you have any photo galleries of yourself anywhere online? (If not, you can always start one up. I'm sure there are plenty of free sites that will host your photos...)
- And why did you decide to become an atheist? Just so you know, people are often happier when they have a religion, more notably Christianity.
- I probably was 12 or 13 then actually. Camera's broken, and I haven't been able to get an instant picture either. I'm also not a fan of proselytizing - especially not on Wikipedia. I come here to add to my current knowledge, and contribute to the project so that others can do the same. I don't come here to be told that what I believe is wrong and what you believe is right. I was only frustrated when I had a religion, but if you're happy having one, then good for you. Each person has a different definition of happiness and how to achieve it. It also appears that you have rather conservative views, and I the exact opposite, so if we're only going to clash because of our extreme differences in personal agenda and such I suggest we not discuss them at all. Yuyudevil 16:46, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, I don't have a set view on everything. It just depends on the subject. Clashing is bad, so whatever discussion it may be, I intend on keeping it calm.
- You know, you type really well for a 15 year old. Do you go to any prestigious school? --Shultz 20:13, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- Considering that most English teachers hate me, I don't consider my grammar too bad either. I actually did go to a prep school-y type of place from grade 1 to 7 (quit because I clashed with admin) - I'm at a much smaller school now, but planning on doing my junior year as an exchange student. Yuyudevil 02:40, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Interesting! What country do you plan on going to as a foreign exchange student? I would've been one too, but my parents didn't have enough money. I still hope to embark on a "Study Abroad" program in college, perhaps to Japan, Korea, or China. PS: How did you clash with the school administrator and why? If someone your age were to meet you in person, how would they describe you? --Shultz 05:01, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Besides the list of words on my user page? Hmm. Different, perhaps. Some traditionalist Koreans might describe me as a traitor or something along those lines. I quite enjoy being different.. I'm horrible at explaining, so I won't even attempt to say precisely why, but I seem to be less stressed when I'm in the minority. Odd, but true. Anyhow.. I think we're using user talk inappropriately.. Is there somewhere else we could move to? Email, perhaps? Yuyudevil 11:13, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

- Ack - sorry about that. I have no clue how I ended up clicking the wrong link - wasn't intentional. I apologize. Yuyudevil 15:28, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
It's OK, RC patrol can be hairy and we try to do things quickly. I have done the same kind of mistake myself. Thanks for your efforts. :-) Sjakkalle (Check!) 15:54, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
