"Low Man's Lyric"
Song

"Low Man's Lyric" is the eleventh song from Metallica's seventh studio album, ReLoad. It is a slow ballad following the likes of Nothing Else Matters and Mama Said. The song seems to be about a homeless heroin addict begging for forgiveness from his estranged family before he dies. Yet this song is sad and flourishing, it has a mental picture that will inspire you to the fullest. It shows that yet we are consumed by this poisnon, but we have to overcome by going to our family. It features Bernardo Bigalli on violin and David Miles on hurdy gurdy. It is one of the few Metallica songs (prior to the 2003 St. Anger) not to feature a guitar solo.

Demo

The song's demo was named "Mine Eyes" and was recorded on October 30, 1995 at Lars Ulrich's home recording studio "The Dungeon".
