Do you know the e-mail address for IndiaFm? I need OTRS permission for some of their photos and I noticed you have uploaded some from their site onto Commons. Any help would be greatly appreciated as their site lists no e-mail. Thanks. Copana2002 (talk) 01:12, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for your help. I was sadly confused by uncomplicated OTRS system :) Copana2002 (talk) 17:01, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!!!!!

Heyyy. How've you been??? Finished uni for Christmas yet? Not bad, I edited for a few months as User:Himalayan Explorer, mainly because my name was slagged off in a way that really offended me on another forum... I've recently resumed editing as Blofeld as it is more fun having the persona. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:26, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well thankyou. Perhaps you want to try to promote Kapoor over Christmas? If its relevant yes.. Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:04, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How dare you?

...letting your friends miss you for so long? How are you? How's life been and what films have you seen in recent times? ShahidTalk2me 13:54, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine but I have little time for WP as well... "Wake up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Kurbaan, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, Paa, Dil Bole Hadippa & What's Your Raashee?" - did you like all of them? I liked very few films from this list (though I'm yet to watch Paa). ShahidTalk2me 21:51, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So sorry buddy... Real-life commitments you know... I liked Kurbaan and particularly WUS. I think MAMK was a terrible film and Bebo just wasted her energy for an unworthy dud. Preity's number was also inconsequential. DBH was the last straw from Rani and she clearly does not know where to draw the line. What do you think? Who will be the main contenders for the awards season? ShahidTalk2me 16:33, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Have not seen Paa yet but I think Bachchan Sr. will win the award. Shahid, Neil, Ranbir, Aamir are strong contenders but I can't say. Actresses: Priyanka will not win it for WYR although she was good. Kareena was very good in Kurbaan (honestly, though the film was generally nice, it was overall a great disappointment for me). BTW, I think Preity should be nominated for Videsh as it had its own release in India, but you never know. ShahidTalk2me 10:12, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I thik the idea is good as I already said and that's what should be done. But, many of the categories mustt be moved and reordered before to avoid second formatting thereafter. ShahidTalk2me 09:05, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have to consult someone else before. It means that all the names of the award categories are incorrectly presented and must be moved. ShahidTalk2me 21:04, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done! :) In the coming days I will also do a massive move to Bollywood awards. ShahidTalk2me 18:49, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First off, it is a great idea, but there is a problem with making "an average/final net gross amount for the film." - we should not make our own calculations and this clearly is not the representative mean of the total collections. Every site has its own average gross numbers. Making statistics is not our problem. Not only is it a great way to mop up our energies every time a big-budget film is released, it is also inaccurate. I think a chart of this sort is very effective, but the last column is unnecessary. ShahidTalk2me 21:28, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh so I would suggest to leave it the way it is then. You'll get completely confused within an hour of work. As you said, the two sites have different films listed in different orders, so that would make a great deal of trouble, because if you list it according to the average number, films in each column of each site will not be listed in order of grosss amount. In short, I'd say skip this idea, though I salute you for your willingness to change. ShahidTalk2me 21:54, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll reply to you by e-mail tomorrow. ShahidTalk2me 21:36, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Leave e-mail aside, both sites are important. I personally prefer BOI as everybody else does, but IBOS is also a reliable site. Both sites present similar collections, but they are generally different numbers. To make an objective list, all the available info should be presented. They will only only support each other's reliability and the credibility of the article. ShahidTalk2me 17:40, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OMG this list is frankly terrible. Just the list of Best Actress gives me a headache. Deepika nominated for Love Aaj Kal? LOL! Kareena is nominated for 3 idiots where she had a tiny role instead of Kurbaan in which she was very good, Katrina is nominated for New York where she had a small and weak character, Priyanka is nominated for Kaminey where she was good but again, inconsequential. Preity is not nominated and I can understand that as it is a Canadian film of small success, but how could they forget someone like Konkona Sen Sharma? She was great in Luck By Chance and her relatively small role in WUS was better than other's. Very disappointing. ShahidTalk2me 18:22, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Have not seen Paa, so I will not include its nominees here.

  • Best Film - 3 Idiots
  • Best Director - Vishal Bhardwaj for Kaminey
  • Best Actor - Shahid Kapoor in Kaminey
  • Best Actress - Priyanka in WYR (I know she won't win though)
  • Supporting Male - Rishi Kapoor for any film
  • Supporting Female - Shahana Goswami - Firaaq

You too mate! OMG. Just when I thought I was getting good good at guitar I discover Robert Conti. Weep weep... I've mastered shred guitar but I'm learning to play jazz which is soooo complicated! I have a great respect now for jazz musicians because technically they are way more advanced than Hendrix or amybody ever was! I mean Hendrix and Satriani are still my guitar heroes but advanced jazz is like the master league!! It is very much like the chess theory of guitar!! Conti may look like a fat pool attendent in Majorca or something but I swear he would make 99% of guitarists in rock today look like beginners... Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:59, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My beautiful Fender guitars and 100 watt mega Marshall amp and stereo.

Oh yeah, I've been playing 19 years, since 7 but I didn't take up electric guitar until around 14. I'm more talented musically than writing, I'm very advanced rock guitar wise, it is my biggest talent but this guy would technically put virtually all rock guitarists to shame! I'm learning to play complex jazz stuff now, its so cool but very demanding!! Conti kicks my ass at guitar and any other guitarist I know. I can't stress enough how skilled he is, unbelievable.... Jazz is very complex and being able to improvise at that level requires some serious theoretical knowledge..... Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:24, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jazz is very sexy. I never used to like jazz but I am really getting into it nowadays. Uber cool stuff. A lot of it reminds me of those cool 70s cop shows, the funkier stuff. Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton, Robert Conti, Al Di Meola and old school stuff like Charlie Parker and Joe Pass are amongst my favourites. Buy a cheap guitar and I'll give you some lessons online and give you some youtube videos. If you really want to learn guitar that it and fit it in around your studies. I'm sure many students play guitar amidst studying.. No kidding, you could probably pick up a cheap acoustic second hand for a very low price and I'll show you how to play some basic chords which will enable you to potentially play a massive number of popular songs. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:48, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Have a listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI3C2HS1vZM. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:53, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I play the piano (not as well), and various other stringed instruments like ukeleles, mandolins, banjos, sitars. I used to play the trumpet and violin too in school.. My family are very talented on both sides, particularly my fathers in writing and music and painting, very creative, and I'm left handed too so that makes me even more creative! My cousin's son is a 16 year old kid but he has the soul of a 60 year black jazz musician and listens to old school jazz stuff. I'd stake a million on it that he'll be a success as a jazz saxophonist. He's amazing, I'be heard recordings he has made and he is as good as pro saxophonists like Kenny G. You have an email BTW. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:22, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think it gives some kind of priority to BOi, and the IBOS column remains messy and unorganised. Although it is sortable and the reader can move the lines according to a preferable column - it still is unorganised, which is a very strong point. However, it is only my opinion buddy, and if you feel strongly about changing it that way, I support you. ShahidTalk2me 14:22, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yup you'll have to update the dates. BTW, if you will need some help before you add it, let me know and I'll check the info and the writing. Cheers, pal. ShahidTalk2me 21:40, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hey buddy, I will go through that and I'll soon let you know what I think of that and how some instances can be improved. For instance, I feel too much scope is given to an insequential film like MAMK in terms of story description. I'm just a bit busy today. But otherwise great job as always. ShahidTalk2me 10:31, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, of course! ShahidTalk2me 20:55, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Adjustment for inflation means adjusting the worth of money and the prices from the past to this day's. I mean, if, for instance, Mother India grossed only one crore in 1957, it obviously does not mean it would have grossed today the same amount of money because one crore of 1957 is equal to 100 crores of today. Therefore if 3 idiots had grossed 99 crore, Mother India would have topped it in the list of highest grossing films while adjusting for inflation. Prices always change and so does the worth of money. Back in time, ticket prices were very low as opposed to today. An ice cream costing one dollar today could cost 3 dollars 3 years later (but then salaries will be much higher as well so it will not make a difference for anyone because it's all relative).
BOI's list of films adjusted for inflation is a bit dated, but I'm perfectly sure K3G is not even close to 3 idiots. According to BOI, K3G grossed 66 crore while adjusting for inflation. Of course it needs to be updated, but I highly doubt the gross would be as high as "3 Idiots"'. I think it will be something like 80 to 90 crore. As for Sholay, I cannot answer this question as Sholay happened in 1975. While updating its gross according to today's costs, it may climb from 136 crore to 200, I really don't know.
Therefore, the bottom line would be that yes, 3 Idiots is definitely Bebo's highest-grossing film (both adjusted and unadjusted). However, I suggest that you leave the list of adjusted films as it is now and wait for BOI to update themselves as neither you not me know of prices and inflation adjustment to be able to make conclusions of our own.
As for PC winning the NFA. That was a big surprise but I'm happy for her. It hurts that a performance like Rani's in Black did not get this so-called prestigious award and PC's one did. I'm very happy though that Kangna won because if Priyanka deserved it, she deserved it twice as much. Arjun was fine in Rock On, but the film itself is overrated. Reg removal of my 3 Idiots edit

Can you tell me why have you removed my edit on 3 Idiots article? http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=3_Idiots&action=history Clapsandboos is a movie discussion board launched early this year and publishes reviews of their hired professional critics and provides their weighted score under the "loudmouth" section. All the other registered user reviews are published after moderation and a "popular score" is provided.(Movie Buff (talk) 17:37, 26 January 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I reverted your edit on the 3 Idiots article as the source (Clapsandboos) is unreliable. The site only consists of fans posting their reviews and a bunch of non-notable critics providing their so-called "scores". I noticed that in your talk page, you were comparing the following site with Rotten Tomatoes. However, a point to be noted is that RT "is published out of IGN Entertainment headquarters"; not only does the site include reviews from fans, it also has reviews from NOTABLE critics - the key word here is "NOTABLE" and this is very important. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 18:28, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much for the clarification. Like you said, the critics in the website are not notable, as yet. But, all the chosen ones have been hired to write only after careful assessment and everything published becomes visible only after heavy moderation of content. However I understand what you are saying as well. If you still feel that my edit is not appropriate, I will not press further. Thanks for your time.
