John F. Kennedy Catholic High School is a Roman Catholic, coeducational high school located in Somers, New York. The school was opened as St. Mary's High School in 1924 and later closed in the early 1960s.[7] It was reopened under its current name in 1966, and serves students in grades 9–12. The school principal is Mister Steven Schmidt; its president is Father Mark Vaillancourt. The students at Kennedy come from all over Weschester County and Putnam County both located in New York. In 1993, the Kennedy Gaels won their first and only football bowl game, defeating Brewster 23-14 in a thrilling comeback victory. [8]
