In music theory, a Viennese trichord ( ) is prime form <0,1,6>; the pitch class set 0, 1, and 6, including 11 (since 12=0,6=6, and -1=11). Named for the Second Viennese School it has Forte #3-5. As opposed to Hindemith and 037, "Composers such as Webern, on the other hand, are partial to 016 trichords, given their 'more dissonant' inclusion of ics 1 and 6."[1]
