Erfan

Hi Julian, recreation of the article for "Erfan" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erfan) was approved in "deletion review" but the article is locked by admin and i can'r recreate it, can you give some direction please? What is the process to follow? The recreation permission was approved by you, see link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2010_January_14. GOZERBOT deletion

Hoi Julian,

I just want to say that my bot GOZERBOT is still under development and living. Version 0.9.1 went into debian, 0.9.2 is under testing and a seperate version has been made to run on Google Application Engine to bridge IRC and Wave. Thing is that i dont seem to be able to find how to disable the purple background. If you can show me how to create a wiki page on GOZERBOT that doesnt require deletion, much appriciated.

Bart Bthate (talk) 20:12, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you're referring to. Could you please provide a link? –Juliancolton | Talk 14:19, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring to this page .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_Relay_Chat_bots. It says that bots not longer maintained show a light purple background which is also the background on the font when i have already clicked on the link. This let me to believe wikipedia was thinking GOZERBOT is no longer maintained. Is this the case ? Its still not clear to me. I thought the deletion of the gozerbot wikipedia page and this light purple color was like erasing gozerbot from the wikipedia memory ;]

Admin coaching

Hi Julian, I've got a little over 3,000 edits and I was just wondering if you had any spaces left for another admin coachee. With the recent RfA of Olaf Davis I thought you might have a space. I've seen your name all over Wikipedia (DYK, RfB - including your own, RfA, the list goes on...) and thought you would make a great admin coach. I'd be willing to take things slow (I wouldn't even consider an RfA for at least six months - I'm asking a little prematurely, I know). I've undergone an editor review and it appears that I'm on the right track. Would you be willing to coach me? Thanks, JulieSpaulding 09:12, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Julie. Sure, I'd be happy to help. Fair warning, though, I take admin coaching quite a bit slower than most other admins, and it might take me a couple days to respond between lessons/courses/questionnaires. If you're still interested go ahead and create User:JulieSpaulding/Coaching (use your imagination!). Regards, –Juliancolton | Talk 16:13, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I don't mind going slow, and I would probably prefer it. I'll create the page now. JulieSpaulding 01:55, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AC: My status update

I've completed this! -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 17:53, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Julian, thanks again for semi-protecting MoM. The semi has now expired, the article is at FAR, and an IP has added the same unsourced text on Electro music three times. Would you mind watchlisting the article in case the IP comes back during the FAR? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:29, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks for the note! –Juliancolton | Talk 00:12, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Hurricane Love (1950)

Updated DYK query On February 1, 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Hurricane Love (1950), which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

WikiCup 2010 January newsletter

We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. We've had some shakeups regarding late entries, flag changes and early dropouts, but the competition is now established- there will be no more flag changes or new competitors. Congratulations to Hungary Sasata (submissions), our current leader, who, at the time of writing, has more listed points than Pennsylvania Hunter Kahn (submissions) and New Orleans TonyTheTiger (submissions) (second and third place respectively) combined. A special well done also goes to Isle of Man Fetchcomms (submissions)- his artcle Jewel Box (St. Louis, Missouri) was the first content to score points in the competition.

Around half of competitors are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. 64 of the 149 current competitors will advance to round 2- if you currently have no points, do not worry, as over half of the current top 64 have under 50 points. Everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places in round 2! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, by email or on IRC. Good luck! Semi-protection of Super Bowl players BLPs

Please read and comment on my observation of extensive vandalism to Nate Kaeding's article two weeks ago, and on my request to semiprotect all the articles of players in Super Bowl XLIV for the next two weeks until a week after the game ends. Chutznik (talk) 03:45, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ping

Well I tried to contact User:Example2 but he didn't answer his phone.  ;) I added some stuff to that there page; do you think I'm missing anything?--otherlleft 05:34, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stupid templates! Your answers look fine to me. Short and to-the-point, which is definitely a good thing! Whenever you feel ready, just go ahead and transclude the RfA. Good luck. :) –Juliancolton | Talk 05:36, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! It's done - but you did all the hard work really, and I appreciate it. I'm going to sleep now, hope no big questions pop up that need my answer prior to morning coffee . . . --otherlleft 06:49, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Phantomsteve's RfA

Most definitely. Send the link my way and I am on it! – ukexpat (talk) 01:50, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The deletion of the page Edward Fletcher (actor)

Hello, the article on Edward Fletcher (actor) was deleted, but there were only two votes in favour of deletion and one against. Although this is a majority in favour of deletion, I believe the discussion should not have been closed so soon, with so little votes. Could the article please be undeleted so that the deletion discussion can stay open so more people can join the voting? (Bgeelhoed (talk) 10:07, 2 February 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

AfDs typically run for around a week, and although I had the option of relisting it for another, I think it was fairly clear-cut. Also keep in mind that AfD is not a vote. Thanks. –Juliancolton | Talk 14:38, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Coaching

Hi Julian, I have completed your questions on my coaching page. Not sure if you would like me to let you know after each 'task' has been completed (this one's just to be safe!) - if not, please let me know. JulieSpaulding 10:20, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for the reminder. I've watchlisted the page, but if I'm slacking off, feel free to crack the whip every so often. :) –Juliancolton | Talk 14:38, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion request

Please delete Wikipedia:WikiProject Outline of Knowledge/Drafts/Outline of geography, so that I can move the actual draft to there. (After I created the page, I re-created and developed it further in article space.)

I am requesting a deletion review of my article on wiki. Dr. and Reverend Wayne Stokeling is an award-winning academician, theologian, and celebrated New York City personality. Stokeling has been pastor of the landmark St. John Baptist Church in the Brooklyn, NY neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant for 22 years.[1]

Education Stokeling has a B.A. in Business Administration from Mercer University; a Master's Degree in Management and Finance from Georgia State University; and an MBA from NYU.

Theological Education Reverend Stokeling's religious education includes the Seminary of the East in NY; the Chandler School of Theology of Emory University; and the London School of Economics and Theological Seminary at Vanderbilt University.

Honors Stokeling's recognitions include three honorary doctorate degrees from Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, FL; Fitzgerald Theological Seminary in Fitzgerald, GA; and the Macon School of Theology. In 2007, Dr. Stokeling was selected to participate in Harvard University's Summer Leadership Institute. [2]

Pastor of St. Baptist Church (Brooklyn, NY) SJBC is a non-profit church in the predominantly African-American neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant in the borough of Brooklyn. The racial and social strife of the faced by the neighborhood in the 1960s and 1970s [3][4] was a force in the church's growing influence. SJBC quickly grew from 800 square feet to 22,000 square feet. Starting in the 2000s the neighborhood started to become gentrified, a trend that currently continues to this day.[5]

Preaching Style Stokeling is an accomplished musician who plays regularly in non-demoninatinal New York City jazz clubs. [6] Meter hymns and gospel music, as well as "Southern African-American close" (whoop) are elements of his sermons.[7]

TFA question

So I finally got Oakwood Cemetery (Troy, New York) to FA! In looking at the workings of Today's Featured Article for the first time (ever), do you think this would have a good chance on October 16, 2010? It will be the 160th anniversary of the consecration of the cemetery grounds. I read over the point system, but I wanted to hear what you think based on your experience. upstateNYer 03:26, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

Hi Julian, would it be possible to ask for rollback rights? There are some multiple edits where undo isn't advisable on multiple, slow and deliberate vandalisms, such as this article. --TitanOne (talk) 17:50, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New England Hurricane

I'm finding a fair amount about a hurricane that struck Nova Scotia August 18, 1893, but I'm guessing that's not the same based on what you have in the article so far. I've got another hurricane hitting Nova Scotia August 22-23, which I also don't think is yours (I'm trying to make sense of the reports, but it seems to me that it would be quite unusual for two hurricanes to hit Nova Scotia in the space of a week). It may of course be that these were in fact non-hurricane storms, I don't really know. I've sent over the pieces that seem relevant to your storm, but it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak, so some of it may not be relevant.
