The Tour métallique de Fourvière, one of the Lyon's most easily recognisable landmarks

Fourvière is a suburb of Lyon, France located on a hill immediately west of the old part of the town. While it gives its name to a funicular line, it is known primarily for the Catholic cathedral the Basilica of Fourvière and the television tower La Tour Métallique which forms the highest point of Lyon.
