Hi My name is Eddie Segoura. Ever since I found this site, I've been addicted to reading and editing pages. I hope the work I do here is productive and will be working on My home page as time goes by. In the meantime, check out the list of pages I edited so far: Special:Contributions/EddieSegoura.

A Little About Me

I'm from Brooklyn, New York. My hobbies include Watching TV, Traveling, Reading, Writing, and Video Games. I currently work as a salesman at a fashion retail store. When I'm not working, I enjoy taking a walk through Manhattan visiting it's many sights, stores, and tourist attractions. I'm also an avid Subway rider. I use it to go to work and occasionally explore riding a line I usually don't take. I also know how to make Lanyards.

What I've learned so far

  • That it take time to get along: People edit these pages from around the world. It can be difficult to fit in.
  • That not everyone may agree to Your edits: I've seen people revert My edits back over and over. Anyone can edit pages, but chances are Your own edits will be reverted or further edited. One in every 3 users can even delete them.
  • That pages, and even usernames are case sensative: EddieSegoura and Eddiesegoura are two different accounts. If You username has caps You'd have to make sure nobody else makes the otherone similar.
  • That Your edits and/or pages must appear in search engines: Recently introduced the community to a little known word, but because it's not part of most people's vocabulary, they obviously believe I Myself actually made it up. I point out in the subpage why I use it, but didn't wake up one morning and start using the word. I've used it long before joining the site. Think of how the word "podcast" came up. Nobody knew of it back in 2000. A lot of people have an attitude that if the info can't immediately be verified, it must be false.
  • That most users will communicate only within the site: Only one user has given there AIM or Email address and one user has even discouraged disclosing My own Email. Unless they disclose their real first name, I can't tell whether the user is male or female for the most part. As I've found out, It's also very difficult to have a private conversation.
  • That promotions don't come easy: If You have a lot of edits under IP address they don't count. For Your edits to count, they have to be made under a username.

To-do List

  1. Make a 2005 in review page . ...created.
  2. Make a 2006 outlook page. just started!
  3. Make some suggestions:
    • Alert anonymous users to create or log in when they save pages.
    • Create a promotion FAQ if their isn't one.
  4. Move userboxes to upper right side of page.
  5. Incorporate Wikimedia into My official webpage, since it's encyclopedic as well.
