The Honda CB650 (manufactured 1979-1985) is one of the many 4 cylinder motorcycles Honda built following its success in the early- and mid-1970s.

First Generation (1979-1982)

The first generation CB650 used a 626cc SOHC 4-cylinder, 8-valve engine, producing 63 horsepower at 9500 RPM. The engine used the same tooling as the famed CB550/4 of the early 1970s. Performance was similar to 750 class motorcycles at the time of release.

Second Generation (1983-1985)

In 1983, the SOHC engine was replaced with an updated DOHC engine. The new engine use rubber engine mounts and achieved 63 horsepower.[1]
