"Ich tu dir weh" is the second single from the 2009 album Liebe ist für alle da by the German band Rammstein. Mainly because of the sado-masochistic content of this song, the album was placed on the "index" maintained by the German Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien.[1][2]

Music video

The first promotional video for the single was released online on 21 December 2009, hosted on the adult site visit-X.

The video shows the band performing the song with equipment that has black and gray colors. Both Till Lindemann and Oliver Riedel are wearing eye contacts that eventually turn colors. (Ollie's turn green and Till's turn red.) Lindemann's mouth also shines a white light when he sings. At the climax of the video, the stage around Flake fills with electricity, resulting in the band members exploding at the last note.

Live story

When played live, great amounts of pyro are used during Ich tu dir weh. Worth noting is the choreographed fight that happens mid-song beetween frontman Till Lindemann and keyboardist "Flake" Lorenz, which ends with Flake lying in a bathtub. Lindemann proceeds to stand in some kind of platform that rises from the floor and then makes a rain of sparks fall on Flake, setting explosions in the bathtub. In the first few German concerts of the Liebe ist für alle da tour, the song's lyrics would be modified to allow the band to play the song with lyrics live, due to the lyrical content being tagged as inapropiate by the Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien.[3][4]. Ultimately, not even an instrumental version was allowed to be played live in Germany, forcing the band to substitute the song with another one (mainly Rein, Raus or Asche Zu Asche) for German shows.
