Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, known in Japan as Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Storm 2 (ＮＡＲＵＴＯ－ナルト－ 疾風伝ナルティメットストーム2) is the upcoming sequel to Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Namco Bandai Games. It will be released on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 in Fall 2010 in Japan and Europe. North American release date is unknown but is supposedly releasing before Japan and Europe.

Playable Characters

Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 will feature over 40 characters from the Shippuden series.[3]

Gameplay

The gameplay will be very similar the previous title. A new Single Player Mode will feature a 1:1 recreation of the Hidden Leaf Village and will be mission-based. Some tweaks have been made to support characters for more strategic uses like combo jutsus and countering hits from an opponent. Awakening Mode returns with some tweaks as well but the changes are currently unknown. Also, a brand new Online Mode will be introduced enabling 1-on-1 battles against players online.[3]

Development

Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Storm 2 was officially announced on December 21, 2009 by Namco Bandai Games at a Jump Festa event. V Jump magazine revealed the game a few days beforehand.[1][4] As CyberConnect2's first multi-platform project, they worked closely with Microsoft.[5]

The North American release was announce in the April 2010 issue of Shonen Jump.[3]
