Diva Montelaba (born on October 24, 1992 in Cebu City, Philippines) is a Filipina who rose to fame and gained media attention for joining the 5th Season of StarStruck, a Philippine reality show broadcast on GMA Network. She is a Cebuana who wants to make her grandmother's dreams come true. She is the contender who has always known because of her undeniable beauty and talent. She is considered to be one of the top contenders for she topped the challenges for 2 consecutive weeks. Currently, she is one of the Top 5 finalist to advance to Final Judgement to be held in Araneta Coliseum on February 21, 2010.[1]

Personal Life

Montelaba is an 19-year-old Bachelor of Science in Tourism student of University of San Jose - Recoletos, Cebu City. She is currently on her 2nd year. She joined and won various of beauty pageants and a free-lance model. She is a product of pure Filipino genes. She revealed that she was not able to see her father since she was 2 years old. On 2008, she won Miss USJ-R.

StarStruck

Montelaba was named as representative of Cebu and was included in the StarStruck season 5 Final 14.

  • Week 1 - Montelaba was outshined by the others on their first Acting Test leaving her part of Bottom 3 along with Ian Batherson and Fianca Cruz. Luckily, she was saved and Fianca Cruz was eliminated from the competition.
  • Week 2 - Montelaba did fairly good in the competition and was saved from the elimination. The lucky 13 was tasked to make their own music videos using their assigned songs from the hit makers like Yasmien Kurdi, Maricris Garcia, Janno Gibbs and among others.
  • Week 3 - Montelaba outshined the other female contestants as she grabbed the Best Female Performer of the Week after doing the dancing task. Joining Montelaba was Rocco Nacino who was also announced to be the Best Male Performer. Since, they are the top 2 performers, they were automatically saved from the elimination.[2]
  • Week 4 - Once again Montelaba and Nacino grabbed the Best Performers of the Week after doing a great job on acting test.[3]
  • Week 5 - Montelaba and the other remaining finalists was tasked to learn the dance craze of the season "Enjoy". The scores that they gained were carried over on the next round of elimination, ergo, there was no elimination happened. Finalists were voted for elimination for the next week.
  • Week 6 - Factor 3 was used. Surprisingly, Montelaba along with Enzo Pineda, Princess Snell and Piero Vergara were called for the elimination process. Once again, Montelaba was saved along with Pineda leaving Vergara and Snell eliminated from the search.
  • Week 7 - In preparation for bigger acting tests, Montelaba and other remaining finalists had an acting workshop with acting mentor Gina Alajar. Montelaba and the remaining finalists were tasked to act altogether in one scene entitled "Monsters" with Eula Valdez. On the elimination process, Nacino and Sarah Lahbati was called. The StarStruck Council used their Factor 4, the special power to stop the elimination, ergo, Lahbati and Nacino were not eliminated.
  • Week 8 - Montelaba was once again safe from the competition as she did a great job in their Acting Test. Meanwhile, Enzo Pineda, Rox Montealegre and Steven Silva were called as the Bottom 3. Unluckily, Montealegre was called to be eliminated from the competition.
  • Week 9 - Once again, Montelaba made it to the top as she was not called as part of Bottom 3 in this week. Joining her in the Top 4 were Enzo Pineda, Sarah Lahbati and Nina Kodaka. Surprisingly, Rocco Nacino together with Ian Batherson and Steven Silva were called for the elimination process, but because of "Factor 1", Batherson was automatically eliminated after being part of Bottom 3 for the third time. No elimination was done between the remaining finalists as Batherson also the person who gained the lowest combined scores from their tests and votes.
  • Week 10 - There was no elimination done for Factor 5 was announced. Viewers must pick their own 5 Starstruck survivors as they call it MY5.
