Derrick Walters
Template:Anglican PortalThe Very Rev Rhys Derrick Chamberlain Walters, OBE was the fourth Dean of Liverpool.[1] He was born on 10 March 1932[2] and educated at Gowerton Boys’ Grammar School and the London School of Economics. He was ordained in 1958[3] and began his ecclesiastical career with a curacy at St Michael, Manselton. [4] Later he was the Anglican Chaplain at University College, Swansea and Curate at St Mary’s, Swansea[5]. He then held incumbencies at All Saints, Totley and St Mary’s, Boulton by Derby. He was Diocesan Missioner, for the Diocese of Salisbury from 1974 to 1983 when he was elevated to the Deanery. He died on 5 April 2000[6] and a building is named after him at Liverpool John Moores University[7]
