Balto III: Wings of Change
Batlo III: Wings of Change is a 2005 DTV sequel - the second of it's kind - to Universal's 1995 animated film Balto. It deals primarily with Balto's son, Kodiak (or Kodi) and was met with a larger degree of acceptance than was given to its predacessor, Balto II: Wolf Quest.
Character profiles and Voice Actors
Balto - He is one of the main characters - perhaps the most important. He is fiercly proud of his son Kodi and has high hopes for the young dog. He has a great desire to learn more about the mysterious flying machine - a bushplane - and becomes somewhat friendly with its pilot, a man named Duke. His strong relationship with his son however, is soon put to the test, as he is asked to be the lead dog in a race between the dogsled Mail Team and the bushplane to decide who is the better cantidate for the job. He is voiced again by [[ ]] who also did the same character in Balto 2: Wolf Quest.
Jenna - She is Balto's devoted mate and the mother of Kodi and Aleu - along witht the rest of their as-yet unidetified kin. She seems to have undergone a slight personality change from when we last saw her in Balto 2: Wolf Quest. In the original movie, she was so brave and daring that she attacked a black bear in order to protect Balto! Now, however, she seems to have taken more of a backseat attitude to all the adventure and seems to be more concerned with being a good mother to her children. Jenna is voiced by Jodi Benson.
Boris - Boris is a Russian snow goose. Having raised Balto since he (presumably) found him abandoned as a pup, Boris is considered to be Balto's father figure, and often asks his advice on matters of great importance. Boris begins to fall for a female goose named Stella in this latest version.
Kodi (Kodiak) - He is one of Balto's offspring - the only other one that has so far been presented besides Aleu - and is a key player on the dogsled team that delivers the mail to and from Nome, Alaska. He shares his father's stubbornness and gets much of his outward appearance from his mother, Jenna. Some fans of the film seem to favor a romantic connection between Kodi and his fellow teammate, a gray feamle Husky named Dusty. He is voiced by Sean Astin of Lord of the Rings fame.
Dusty - She is a gray female Husky and a teammate of Kodi's on the Mail Team. She is as devoted to her job as Kodi and is the first to join him in the search for the wrecked bushplane. Again, there is a general feeling among certain fans that she is fond of Kodi and desires to enter a romantic relationship with him. She is voiced by Charity James.
