Dmitry Sokolov (alternate spelling: Dmitri Sokolov) (born January 21, 1985 in Stavropol Region, Soviet Union) is a Russian professional basketball player. He plays at the center position.

Pro career

Sokolov has played with Dynamo Stavropol, Pulkovo St. Petersburg, Lokomotiv Rostov, UNICS Kazan, and CSKA Moscow during his professional career. He joined CSKA in June of 2009.[1]

Russian national team

Sokolov won the gold medal as the starting center for Russia's junior national team at the 2005 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. He has also played with the senior Russian national basketball team at the EuroBasket 2009.
