The World Kickboxing Association (WKA) is the first professional kick boxing organization and is one of the largest professional sanctioning organisations in the world for the sport.

WKA was created in 1976 by Howard Hanson, a Shorin Ryu Karate black belt, who was a founder of kickboxing in America. Howard Hanson sold the WKA to Dale Ford in 1991.

WKA developed the field of low kicks thanks to some strong Asian and Japanese connections. WKA is based in England and prospered throughout Europe and in North America. In 1994, Paul Inghram took over the organization. It's headquarters are in London.
