Sage Hospitality Resources is one of the leading hotel management and development companies in the United States.

History

Walter Isenberg is co-founder of Sage Hospitality Resources and serves as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

Based in Denver, Colorado, Sage specializes in the operations, development and capital transactions of hospitality real estate. Sage owns and operates 47 hotels in 22 states, ranging from large, urban, full-service hotels to smaller, limited-service suburban properties. Mr. Isenberg directs all company operations, including hotel development, asset management, and property management.

Mr. Isenberg and his partner, Zack Neumeyer, were founders of Sage Hospitality Resources LLC, in 1984. The company’s history of hotel management includes the turnaround of dozens of distressed properties, asset management of luxury hotels, program development as a developer and manager, and the restoration of historically significant buildings located in large urban centers that were converted to hotel use. Sage has been consistently recognized for its ability to “give back” to the communities it represents. As an illustration, Sage was the first recipient of Marriott International’s Spirit to Serve Award, given annually to a franchise partner that lives its vision to be an outstanding corporate citizen. Sage has also been recognized for its commitment to customer service, receiving excellence in Service awards at many of its hotels. Sage’s development group has won numerous awards for excellence in the development of hotels and is nationally recognized as a leader in historic preservation.

Mr. Isenberg is a member of the American Hotel Lodging Associations Government Affairs Committee. Active in the community, Mr. Isenberg currently serves as Chairman of the Campaign to Restore Historic Treat Hall for Johnson & Wales University and serves on the boards of The Downtown Denver Partnership; The Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau; Colorado Concern; The Children’s Hospital Foundation; Mountain States Employers Council and Renaissance Hotels and Resorts Advisory Council.

Mr. Isenberg is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.

Recognized as an innovative leader in our industry, Sage specializes in the management and development of premium-branded and independent hotels. We create value for hotel owners and investors through outstanding product development and superb asset management. This powerful combination fuels our vision of being recognized by our customers as the best in the business.

Sage Hospitality Resources ([1]) is a dynamic, growth-oriented company that prides itself on our commitment to values that support our management philosophy of exceeding associate, guest and hotel owner satisfaction.

Sage Restaurant Group

Formed in 2005, the Sage Restaurant Group focuses on building “independent” restaurants and lounges adjacent to our hotels in prime urban locations. Highly designed, innovative, and value driven, all of the restaurants in the Sage Restaurant group portfolio offer Sage hotel guests added value as well as a completely different experience from their hotel stay.

The Sage Restaurant Group developed and is operating Temple Downtown – Restaurant and Lounge in Providence, The Corner Office – Restaurant and Martini Bar in Denver, Mercat a la Planxa - Spanish Tapas and Chophouse in Chicago. Current projects under development include: The Dinerant , Urban Farmer and Departure – Lounge and Grill in all in Portland.

Many of the Sage Restaurant Group internally developed concepts, such as The Corner Office and The Dinerant, finally bridge the gap between the age old struggle of having a successful restaurant while still taking care of the hotel guest needs. Both concepts are based on 3-meal platforms, are value driven, and have built in efficiencies to be used as a successful foundation for all banquet, catering, and room service needs. With a primary focus on building restaurants for the communities that they are in – this positive synergy and dynamic is rarely found within the hospitality industry.
