Ken Rutkowski is the president of the L.A. chapter of the Media, the founder of Entertainment and Technology Alliance known as METal and the voice of KenRadio[1]'s World Technology Roundup on CBS Radio. [2] [3] Being one of the most connected people in the media, entertainment and technology (MET) market, Ken helps start-ups to worldwide corporations understand the trends that shape their industries and connect with the important people. His daily Internet and radio talk show, World Tech Round-Up, is translated in over 40 countries and regularly scoopes the major media and emerging trends, depevolpments industry strokes. As a keen strategist, Ken combines a deep understanding of MET principles with an insider’s look at the problems that face the industry today. This helps people shape their strategies to leverage innovations in the digital economy. [4]

Career

In March 1990, Rutkowski established KenRadio Broadcasting, a daily technology podcast with unique insight and perspective on the high tech industry. [5] [6] Since 1995, in his daily talk show, the World Technology Roundup, Ken brings an insight on high tech business worldwide. The show also includes reviews and discussion on the latest services, software, and devices. Ken provides his audience with the cogently layered analysis of what is going on in the high tech world.

Rutkowski is a founding member of the Streaming Media Executive Committee and is on the boards of several media, entertainment and technology companies. He appears regularly as a guest correspondent for KTTV Fox 11 and Fox's "Good Day LA." [7] [8] Ken has also created and hosted various technology programs on the following radio networks: NPR, ABC, WLS Chicago, KHOW Denver, CNET Radio San Francisco, and BBC Professional associations. [9][10] [11] Ken is also on the board of several media, entertainment and technology companies. [12]

In January 2003, Ken Rutkowski founded a new Media Entertainment Technology Alliance (METal), the mission of which is to establish a strong environment for its members and allow for a variety of opportunities, intellect interests, and support mechanisms accomplished via a common bond of shared values across the media, entertainment and technology space. [13] [14] As a media personality and industry figure, Ken Rutkowski has been profiled in The Wall Street Journal, Fox News, BBC, Business Week, Wired, Internet World, Electronic Media, Online Journalism Review, Boston Times, Chicago Tribune, Chicago SunTimes, Finland Helsingin Sanomat, Asahi Shinbun, Bangkok Times, and dozens of other publications worldwide. At the same time, he was nominated for the 5th UCLA's Wireless Conference [16]

In 2005, for his activity on the new media arena, with a special emphasis on the emerging technologies, Ken received a Digital Entertainment Award. [17]

Since July 2009, Ken has been a board member at Opportunitiy Green, a leading edge event addressing the innovation opportunities for businesses and creating innovation, collaboration and inspiration among the industry leaders and next generation of thought leadership, helping them to develop and implement sustainable business solutions .[18]

Approximately at the same time, Rutkowski becomes a board member of the TEDx, independently organized Technology, Entertainment, and Design event, where some of the world's leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about. [19]

In October 2009, Ken becomes an intelligence analyst at the Oprah Winfrey Network, where he generates regular research analysis focused on identifying and providing updates on people, companies, events, technologies, trends, and conferences relevant to the mission of the Oprah Winfrey Network. [20]

In January 2010, Rutkowski becomes Los Angeles Local Partner at the Founder Institute, a training program for entrepreneurs. The Founder Institute prepares founders to lead the next generation of world-class technology companies across a wide range of industries, from the biotech to the internet. [21]

Since January 2010, Ken Rutkowski is also a partner and innovation and social media analyst at FreeForm, a media and purpose-driven company, which aims at translating potent thinking into stories that move people. He is a guest lecturer at prestigious universities such as Loyola University, Northwestern University, and University of Illinois - Champaign/Urbana to name a few. He has also been a guest speaker at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, University of California - Los Angeles, San Diego, and Berkeley and other top tier colleges and universities.
