Hello, Planeshift rpg, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you have edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been reverted for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of deletion, you might like to draft your article before submission, then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! —DoRD (talk) 14:37, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at PlaneShift (video game). During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

March 2010

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - Vianello (Talk) 04:54, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Planeshift rpg (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Obvious vandalism – edits which any well-intentioned user would immediately agree constitute vandalism, such as page blanking and adding cruel or offensive language. Legitimate content changes, adding or removing tags, edits against consensus, and similar actions are not exempt. Administrators should block persistent vandals and protect pages subject to vandalism from many users, rather than repeatedly reverting. However, non-administrators may have to revert vandalism repeatedly before administrators can respond.

Decline reason:

This was edit warring, however; this was a content disagreement, and content disagreements are not vandalism. Please use the article talk page in the future. --jpgordon::==( o ) 06:20, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

If you can point to the vandalism I will be happy. The user that requested this block has vandalized the PlaneShift page like 15 times, by removing information like release dates. So you got the wrong person, next time read the edits.

Decline reason:

Unfortunately, you chose a username that is not allowed by our policies, so your account has now been indefinitely blocked. —DoRD (talk) 14:37, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-admin comment No vandalism, just a violation of WP:3RR and a bit of WP:OWN. Best read these policies before requesting another unblock.--Iner22 (talk) 13:41, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Relation to the Game

Can you please describe your relationship to the game itself? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 14:19, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm one of the developers of the game. --Planeshift rpg (talk) 14:22, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a few moments to create a new account with a username that represents only you. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may ask for a review of this username block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message. Thank you. —DoRD (talk) 14:37, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Z15

It's just a nick, like any other. Anyway, I will create a new one no problem. --Planeshift rpg (talk) 14:43, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that you are still autoblocked, so you will need to wait until after your original block would have expired. However, if you edit in the manner of this account with your new account, the result will be similar. —DoRD (talk) 14:46, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I totally disagree. You should check the reverts done by SpigotMap on the PlaneShift page (he did about 15 reverts in 4 days) and put a bit of sanity into this. Surely the troublemakers know how to call admins and to get their attention, but that's not a reason for blocking my user, who just tried to keep the page out of vandalism. I don't think reverting vandalism should be considered a problem. you are just doing this wrong. --Planeshift rpg (talk) 14:51, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have the time to spend to convince you, but if you just go and read the edits you will see it. I will continue to avoid vandalism on the PlaneShift page, whatever it will take (new accounts, new IPs, or even asking the players to keep it sane). No troublemaker is going to win. --Planeshift rpg (talk) 14:53, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"Win"? This is not a game - there's no winning or losing. There's only the use of sourced information that is notable and useful for an encyclopedia. If you think that you WP:OWN this article because you're involved, and continue to act with a WP:BATTLEGROUND attitude, you will find your stay at Wikipedia to be very brief. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 15:16, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is exactly what SpigotMap did, by deleting useful content. Can you see that? Plus he also managed to bring your attention to here and have this account blocked, while he did exactly the same, so why you are not blocking his account for all the reverts he did? I'm not blaming you, because you just have a small view on the problem, while we are dealing with this guy since about 5 years. --Planeshift rpg (talk) 15:19, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In addition your claims here about WP:BATTLEGROUND and WP:OWN are quite off track. The edits I did were actually: added sources, added relevant information, improved the layout of the page. Being a developer of the game, I just want to add relevant information that explains better the game itself. What SpigotMap did was to: constantly delete the new information added, even if it was good and sourced, arriving at the point to say that release dates are not in scope. Adding more "fan made" banners, and preventing overall the page to expand. I can see this clear purpose, including the blocking of this account. This is an evident attack, and I'm saying I'm not giving up to keep the page in good shape. --Planeshift rpg (talk) 15:33, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
SpigotMap is currently blocked for edit-warring on that article, so enough attention has been raised. You have WP:COI ... I'd highly recommend that you stay away from that article. When the autoblock expires, please visit WP:UNC to change usernames. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 16:23, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't disagree with that, but our group will check that the page is not getting vandalized nor people are limiting its expansion by just deleting and bashing any new content. --Planeshift rpg (talk) 17:46, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"Your group" doesn't own the article; "your group" should not be editing the article at all. --jpgordon::==( o ) 17:55, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Who said we own it? I just said we are going to prevent people vandalizing it. --Planeshift rpg (talk) 19:50, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please familiarize yourself with WP:COI to understand why this is not appropriate. --jpgordon::==( o ) 22:34, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've familiarized myself with it, and I don't think any of the edits made where part of any COI. I will be interested to see if you can point to any edit which can be considered made for advertizing. So I still think the block has been totally wrong. --Planeshift rpg (talk) 23:09, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
