The AMIA was rebuilt in 1999 exactly where the old building stood, 633 Pasteur Street.

Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) is a Jewish Community Center located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It's general mission is to promote the well being and development of Jewish life in Argentina and to secure the continuity and values of Jews.

It provides quality experiences through a mix of formal and informal Jewish educational, recreational, and cultural activities. People of all ages are invited to participate at their level of interest and encouraged toward higher levels of involvement in Jewish life and in the community at large.

On July 18, 1994, a white traffic-van loaded with explosives smashed into AMIA killing 85 people and destroying the building completely. This loathsome terrorist attack was probably perpetrated by Hezbollah (a muslim extremist organisation) with backing from Iran.
