Barbara Rosenkranz (née Schörghofer[1]; born 20 July, 1958 in Salzburg) is an Austrian politician for the right wing populist FPÖ Freedom Party and Provincial Minister of Building Law and Animal Protection for Niederösterreich (Lower Austria). She is the Freedom Party candidate for the Austrian federal election in 2010.[2][3]

A controversial and polarizing figure in Austria, Rosenkranz is married to a neo-Nazi[4] and has been a vocal critic of Austria's strict anti-Nazi legislation. Her nomination as leader of the FPÖ has sparked outrage from Jewish groups and moderate politicians.[5] Rosenkranz is also a vocal critic of immigration[6] and the European Union.[7]

Rosenkranz has 10 children, 6 girls and 4 boys, all with ancient Germanic names. [8] She has been dubbed "the Reich mother" by the Austrian media.
