Reviews
The movie recieved one and a half stars from Behindwoods, which declared it "usual Vijay fare".[2] Sify agreed that "[t]he story is wafer thin and as old as the Kodai hills", but stated that Sura proved that "[c]onviction can bring any formula to life". [3] Rediff praised Vijay's style, screen presence and "flair for comedy". [4] The film has also been noted for indicating that Vijay is "making preparations for an entry into Tamil politics".[5] [6]
